We make men without chests and expect of them virtue... We laugh at honor and are shocked to find traitors in our midst.

Hug an Australian Day

Bonus points if you can correctly identify the Australian flag below. Here's a bit of random trivia: the constellation on both flags is the Southern Cross, one of the constellations in the Southern hemisphere. Aussies, I know you're out there, speak up on this one! You get double bonus points for being Australian, plus a virtual hug. :)

Jesus for the nations

Every person in the world is guilty of doing wrong things, and we deserve to be punished for them--and the punishment is death. But God loves us, so he sent Jesus to die in our place; Jesus was punished instead of us. If we acknowledge his sacrifice and accept it as the gift it is, then God forgives us and declares us innocent, no longer guilty of the wrong things we've done. Jesus was punished and killed in the place of all humanity.

Jesus was dead for three days, but then he came back to life-- he is too powerful for death to hold him! When we believe in him and give him control of our lives, he gives us a new life, and he gives us the power to live a life free from the control of evil. Followers of Jesus still have difficulties, but we have God himself helping us through them.

God loves you, and he wants you to accept the gift of forgiveness, life, and freedom that is found in Jesus. If you want to accept his gift, you don't have to do anything complicated or weird. Just tell him. It's that simple.

Please email me if you do want to follow Jesus so we can talk more about it, and I'll see if I can help you in any way.

Featured!

I recently wrote a letter to a blogger (Sophie) whose work I've been following for a long time. She is linked in my sidebar; I encourage you to take a look around her blog. Anyway, I checked back today and saw that she posted my letter! It's about the economy; direct link here. Please comment on the post there and let me know what you think. She created the poster below, and added it to my post because it fit so perfectly.

Hope you don't get thirsty!

This was the only water fountain for quite a distance in a Florida national park on a hot day.
